Sing your transformation
Just like nature, you are continually in a process of transformation. We are all cyclical beings waxing and waning and oscillating between cocooning and emergence.
A sanctuary of sound
The first time I consciously heard the voices of my ancestors was over 25 years ago. I was playing percussion to accompany my college African dance class, when I heard a clear and distinct chorus of voices.
A healing sound
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting a wise and radiant elder who told me that, in her youth in northern India, they would have gatherings with a great number of brass Himalayan signing bowls and that these sound meditations would last for hours. This was a beautiful reminder that sound medicine is nothing new, although it’s now gaining a broader audience in western wellness practices.
Dispatch from Buenos Aires
My little family and I were called to visit Argentina this week. Although in these past few years, my adventuring has been focused on the journey within—through the akashic records, reiki, and sound healing—I deeply appreciate the unique energy and multi-sensorial delights of this new (to me) land.
Clearing space
When I first moved to New York City over 20 years ago, I lived in five different apartments over the course of five years. Each time I moved, I intuitively knew that it was important to energetically cleanse the home.
Rock concert vs. sound bath
Last weekend I was chatting with a dear friend and got to thinking about the difference between the rock concert I’d attended the previous night and a sound bath.
Autumn Equinox unfolding
I’ve always loved inflection points. Those moments when we can shift into something new—perhaps quietly transforming into an elevated state that’s been waiting to emerge.
Bathing in sound
Have you experienced a Reiki sound bath with me? There are scientific studies that show the health benefits of sound healing, including decreasing anxiety, chronic stress, depression, and pain, and increasing an overall sense of wellbeing.
Nomadic summer
For the past few weeks, we’ve been slowly shedding many belongings in preparation for a Sagittarian nomadic summer before resettling in NYC this fall.
Resonance from Cuba
If you’ve had a Reiki session with me or joined one of my sound baths, you’ve likely heard me sing for the Orishas, who are divine energy beings in African traditional religion—very similar to archangels.
Vibrational healing
For the past several months I’ve had the privilege to go deep into the study of sound therapy and bodywork.
