A healing sound

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting a wise and radiant elder who told me that, in her youth in northern India, they would have gatherings with a great number of brass Himalayan signing bowls and that these sound meditations would last for hours. This was a beautiful reminder that sound medicine is nothing new, although it’s now gaining a broader audience in western wellness practices.

Sound healing is both primal—we begin processing and understanding sound in the womb—and high-tech—ultrasound therapy can be used for a wide variety of physical ailments. Our bodies respond to and benefit from the healing properties of sound in both audible and inaudible forms.

In my sound healing practice, I always pair sound and reiki because these vibrational practices are a natural combination. I use both intuitive guidance and well as the knowledge gained from my studies and training in sound therapy. And I’m thrilled that this modality is being brought forward more and more as an accessible and pleasurable way to feel better.

Recently, I was deeply honored to be interviewed on one my favorite podcasts for autoimmune healing, The Phoenix Helix with Eileen Laird, to talk about sound healing along with the incomparable Jennifer Roseman. I hope you get a chance to listen and let me know if you have any questions about this gentle-yet-powerful healing modality.
