Moments that change your life
The deeper I go into my spiritual journey, the more I understand that there really are no coincidences.
A few weeks ago, on a flight from NYC to Denver, I ran into the first person I ever received a reiki session from. It was a one-time meeting years ago and I hadn’t seen her since.
My first thought was, “What a wild coincidence, she doesn’t even live in New York anymore and I don’t even travel that much!”
I soon realized that this encounter was a divinely-guided reminder to show me how far I’ve come on my journey.
When I first sought out that reiki session, roughly 12 years ago, I had been digging my heels into a stressful finance career that felt out of alignment, was experiencing autoimmune disease symptoms, and had suffered multiple unexplained miscarriages. But I had a pretty healthy diet and exercised regularly so I had the idea that I should look into energy healing.
I found a reiki practitioner through a local yoga studio and I honestly don’t remember many specifics about the session except that I really liked the practitioner—she made me feel welcomed and like I wasn’t foolish for seeking out her help. I remember that I felt very calm and at peace during the session and afterwards.
What I didn’t realize, until many years later, was that this meeting marked a massive turning point in my life.
Several months later, my kid (and perhaps my greatest spiritual teacher) was conceived.
Several years later, after broadening and deepening my spiritual and wellness practices, I ended a career path that felt like it was not-at-all “me” and embarked on a calling that feels in profound alignment with all of life.
I don’t know if we can manufacture or force these pivotal moments. But I don’t think they are by chance either…
Perhaps you can listen a bit more closely to those feelings and ideas that seemingly come from nowhere. Maybe you can find the courage to trust your inner guidance. And then you, too, may receive the gift of seeing that none of this is by chance.
