Resolving to rest

Are you making time for rest?

We live in a society that rewards action, acquisition, and extroversion. These are powerful modes of being but, when taken too far, they can lead to burnout, bloat, and blurred lines between the self and societal conditioning.

But what if we took a lesson from nature and acknowledged the importance of seasons of rest in preparation for the growing season? Nature always finds its balance.

As we close this first month of the Gregorian calendar, a time when many embark on new beginnings, perhaps we can also reflect on the natural world around us—the resting dormancy of winter, a time for deep internal restoration, in anticipation of tender creations emerging from the earth. The practices of connecting to the akashic records, reiki, and sound healing can be profoundly restorative.

Remember that you, too, deserve to rest.
